Blog Promotion - Three Essential Features Of An Automated Posting Script

Posted on August 31st, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

One of the best tools for online marketing is a web-log but, in order to stand out from the crowd, you need to promote it in the best way possible. Nowadays, social media promotion is no more enough and bloggers are finding and applying alternative and inventive promotion strategies.

One of the most interesting one I had the chance to incur in is using more blogs to promote a main blog.

Think about it: if these secondary blogs are related to the main one, as far as it concerns subjects and interests, they can collect and drive traffic to the main one as a funnel would do, and assure you an exponential source of visitors.

The downside is that more blogs mean more content generation and posting activity, which can become huge work as the number of web-logs begins to grow.

A way to effectively leverage the benefits of multiple blogs management is reducing the time and effort for the posting activity, and this can be done through automated script.

Here is a short list of the main features you should look for when choosing a software to automate you blog posting:

1) The software should have its own administration panel including section like add/edit category, post settings, email settings at the bare minimum. The more the features, the better the script. Check the easiness of use of the admin-panel.

2) It should provide you with a mean to post multiple articles through a single text file containing all the posts inside.

3) You should be able to manage Google Adsense codes through the script directly, avoiding you the pain of re-editing your posts on the main CMS platform.

These are just some of the main aspects you should check before making a definitive choice. Anyway, you can download a trial or demo version and try different products. Test them finding the one that fills your needs, go on with that and exclude the others.

5 Ways to Generate Content For Your Blog

Posted on August 30th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

If you have a blog and you are anything like me, you sometimes get stumped for what to write about. Maybe you just aren’t feeling particularly inspired or maybe you are just having one of those weeks where you’re too crazy busy to really sit down and write.

You should know that there are lots of other ways to come up with content for your blog without having to either 1) be completely original or 2) have your post be in the form of the written word. Let’s look at five ways to generate content when you start feeling stuck:

1) Guest posts. I’ve both guest posted on others’ blogs as well as had people guest post on mine. Don’t be afraid to approach bloggers in a niche that’s complimentary to yours to ask if they would like to write a post for your blog. You will want to offer to return the favor for them in most cases, but it’s a nice way to change things up for your own readers by showcasing someone else’s writing style.

2) Other people’s articles. There are a lot of great article sites out there with tons of excellent content. Most of them allow you to use the articles on your own site-as long as you include the resource box at the end of them which includes the author’s information and website link. You can search by category to find articles suitable for the focus of your blog. Some examples of good article sites include Ezinearticles, Goarticles and Ideamarketers.

3) Create a video post. Video is truly the next (if not current) frontier online and it’s absolutely bigger than ever. Simple video cameras like The Flip are inexpensive and super easy to use. Instead of writing a post, create a video with a helpful tip or interesting fact. It can be as short as a minute and you don’t need to worry about being perfect and rehearsed. People love to see you being yourself!

4) Create an audio post. Not ready to be on camera? There’s nothing wrong with sticking to audio. Some ideas would be to read a top 10 list of tips, interview someone in your field or take content you may have written elsewhere and turn it into audio. These days it’s simple to do: you can use a service like Audio Acrobat to record yourself over the phone or use Skype and a free recording service like Call Graph.

5) Provide a review or commentary of others’ content. This is one of my favorite methods for coming up with blog post content. I simply take a look at my favorite blogs whose feeds I have pulled into Google Reader and see what catches my eye. I then write a post about it adding my thoughts and linking back to the original post. You could give your opinion on whether you agree or not with the blogger’s point of view, add information you think they should have included or answer questions that they may have asked. If you don’t find anything on other blogs, StumbleUpon.com is another source of content ideas. This site allows users to discover and submit websites, photos and videos from around the web. I often check here if I find myself in need of some inspiration.

So, next time you find yourself at a loss for what to write about, consider some of these ideas to keep your blog filled with helpful content. Just remember, you don’t always have to come up with material on your own-which should come as some relief!

4 Steps to Earn Blogging Profits

Posted on August 29th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

For the last few months, money has become harder and harder to earn. Many businesses are closing up. A lot of people are getting laid off from their jobs. And to make things worse, prices of goods are getting high. So how do you cope with this situation? One way for you to earn money is by blogging. Many have resorted to writing online journals for the blogging profits that it provides.

How do you earn by blogging? Here are simple steps that you can follow to help you start getting blogging profits.

1. Set up your blog. There are two ways to setup your blog. One is to use blog platforms that offer blog hosting services for free. Another is to host your own blog. For beginners, it is usually the former that is more appealing. Setting up a blog through hosted sites is almost as easy as opening an email account. There are already templates ready and all you need to do is to choose what you like. The latter however is good for those who are already adept in the technical aspects of blogging. You can set up your blog according to your own preferences and desires.

2. Select a niche for your blog. It is easier to have loyal readers and generate traffic if you have a niche topic for your blog. Niche topic means a specific topic that you write on. People who are interested in your niche topic will likely visit your blog regularly. If you have varied topics, there may be a lot of people who will visit your blog initially but it is highly possible that they will not come back again and again to your site. If they no longer see you write about the topic that they like, they will not go to your blog anymore.

3. Post ads in your blog. There are advertising networks that will help you get ads for your blog. You can also do your own selling of ad space. Either way can earn money.

4. Promote other people’s products. You can do this by partnering with other people and offering to promote their products by writing reviews for them or by just mentioning their products with links to their websites.

In times when money is hard to come by, creative means like blogging will help you get by. You can do it in your free time while still maintaining other jobs. But if you are serious about it or you will go full time, you can actually earn big blogging profits.

The 3 Things To Avoid When Emailing Your List

Posted on August 28th, 2009 in Listbuilding | No Comments »

The 3 Things To Avoid When Emailing Your List

When you decide to have an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding many complications. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to get off from your list.

Aside from that, you also want to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider or ISP. There are now many laws and rules that are applied to help protect the privacy of the internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of the electronic mail as a medium for marketing because of the low cost, many company’s have seized the opportunity and have flooded many people’s e-mail accounts with promotional mail.

But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list; they want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials. They have consented to being on the list by subscribing themselves, just don’t forget to put an unsubscribe feature everytime in your opt-in list so that you avoid any confusion. There may be times when an email account was provided when the real owner didn’t want to subscribe.

It is essential that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange it by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Do not worry; your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales then to profit.

Keep yourself and your business out of trouble and potential run-ins with the law and the internet service providers. Keep your operation legit and clean. Your reputation as a legitimate businessman and a legitimate site depends on your being a straight and true marketing strategist. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list.

1) Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient.

There are bounces that happen or occur because the server was busy at that time but can still be delivered in another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounce messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a misspelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the .com area.

2) Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way and many more in potential subscribers.

3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Always remember these tips in this article so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.

What Not to Put in Your Social Network Profile

Posted on August 28th, 2009 in Social Marketing | No Comments »

What Not to Put in Your Social Network Profile

Online social networks have rapidly increased in popularity, especially over the past couple of years. Social networking websites are popular because they easily allow you to find, connect with, and develop friendships with other internet users, often ones that share the same interests as you. To find those individuals, you must join a social networking website and create a profile. It is often advertised that your social networking profile is the key to making and finding friends online.

As previously mentioned, your social networking profile is important when it comes to meeting other internet users. This is because, in most cases, internet users are looking to chat with someone who has the same goals, views, beliefs, and interests as they do. Without a personal profile, it would be difficult or impossible to tell what your interests are. That is why social networking profiles are not only important, but they are needed.

When it comes to social networking profiles, a lot of focus has been placed on what you should include in your profile or display on your profile page. It has been said that pictures produce the best responses, as well as detailed personal information. Although a picture and detailed personal information may help to increase your page views, you may be getting views that you do not necessarily want. Despite what you may believe, most social networking websites do not have restrictions on who can view your personal profile. In fact, internet users, even those that do not belong to your online community, can easily see profile.

Since anyone, literally anyone, can see your social networking profile, on most social networking websites, you are advised to be cautious. Essentially, this means that instead of focusing on what you should put in your online profile, you should be focusing on what not to put. This is one the best ways to protect your safety, both on and offline.

As previously mentioned, pictures are often recommended with social networking websites. If you are interested in positing a personal picture of yourself in your online profile you can do so, but you are advised to carefully choose that picture. While you will want to look your best, you are advised against posting a picture that is too revealing or seductive in nature. Most internet users can look at these types of pictures without feeling a thing, but for others these types of pictures spell danger.

If you make the decision to post a picture of yourself in your social networking website profile, you need to be careful about the rest of the information that you post. Although you may not necessarily think about it, a picture is just a picture, but combined with your name and address, it could be a deadly combination. You are advised to only post your first name in your profile. This will make it more difficult for anyone to try and contact you off of the internet.

It is also advised that you carefully choose your location. A large number of online social networking sites require that you select a city, as well as a state. If it is allowed, you may only wish to list your state and not the city. If you are required to list the city and the state that you live in, you may want to think about using a nearby city or town, especially if you live in a small town. If an internet predator wanted to contact you and you lived in a small town, it could be fairly easy for them to find you. That is why it is advised that you carefully select the answer to the location question.

In addition to the above precautionary measures, it is advised that you do not post detailed information on your children, the location of your home, your income, or when you will be leaving for vacation. By keeping these and the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to enjoy online social networking without having to always look behind your back.

Money Making Blog Sites

Posted on August 27th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Are you wondering why people often tell that they get paid really well just by staying at home and doing internet-based jobs?

Well, it really is not a very mind-boggling question. It’s just a matter of resourcefulness on your part. All you have to do is go online and find a home-based job that suits your personality and preference.

As for most people, they find writing as something as automatic as breathing. They take advantage of this strength and so they become successful in the business that they choose which is putting up a money making blog site.

A money making blog site is just your regular typical blog that you know wherein the user writes just about anything that he/she thinks of and becomes interested in. Its difference to the purely leisure blogs is that it contains boxes of advertisements in its frames. These advertisements are from various companies, which try to sell their products or services online. The display varies according to the subject or topic of the blog entry in that website. It works by having as many people visiting the links mentioned in the advertisement, or just by the mere number of visitors that talk about money making blog site. Therefore, it is important to always update your blog and keep it from getting stagnant. There are embedded programs and codes which could keep track of your daily, monthly, or annual site traffic so that you could study it more closely and strategize for a plan to increase your website traffic.
