Do you have use for a Machine Gun around here?

Posted on October 30th, 2009 in Marketing | No Comments »

Then perhaps you just need a great ebook!

The opening line is by Elmer Wheeler - considered America’s Greatest Salesman. Millions follow his teachings and have seen infinite success just by putting his advice in place.

Now imagine if you were an Internet Marketer and you could do the same?

Well, now  you can!

I’ve been an affiliate marketer for some time now, and have recently had the pleasure of reviewing ‘Canned Genius: Internet Marketing’. It’s a product which left me completely amazed at some things I had been missing all along.

Canned Genius: Internet Marketing came about after an investigation into scams online. The author, Susan Black, was dismayed by how many people were getting blatantly ripped off, but then she stumbled across a group of people whose backgrounds checked out and were actually selling good services to the public.

She befriended them and then interviewed them about their success, how they really did it, what the key things were that made them join the big leagues and what their biggest recommendations are for others who want to succeed online.

The book is a series of 8 interviews with these successful people, including Andrew Hansen, Colleen Slater and Tristan Bull to name a few.

Its an eye opener and is certainly a great read for anyone in the Internet Marketing business, as these people give an honest and truthful account of their success.

Canned Genius is a highly recommendable product, I really enjoyed reading about the real ways to be successful without all the sales pitch blurb. I also liked that all the contributors offered a free product of their own, some offered advice or a special report just for purchasers of the book.

Microblogging is it really Crucial for Marketers

Posted on October 30th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Microblogging as the term suggests means blogging in micro pieces. It permits you to write brief texts on a particular social community or on a site and publish to be viewed by anyone. The basic aim of microblogging is to communicate and converse with the certain limit of characters. Microblogging is gaining popularity as it requires least effort from the people to be connected to each other.

The various Microblogging networks available are:

Twitter

Moodmill

Facebook

Bebo

Out of all the Microblog services Twitter has been the most popular among all and the reason of its popularity is it has constantly allowed people to communicate with the world applications and also connecting with the interesting people. There is an advantage to the twitter post, here you can pen your thoughts instantly and not like other blogs where you have to do time management and have to gather the thoughts before writing them. Moreover twitter is being used widely by people all over the globe so the information one can get from twitter is magnificent.

Microblogging plays a significant role in promoting one’s business. On Twitter you can set up your account to promote your business online and as twitter is visited by thousands of people daily and would route lot of traffic to your site. But this is not enough as creating an account or by doing link building. As people would not be interested in your site but you have to arouse the interest of the people and you can do this by finding people with whom your interests match so then you can spread the message promptly as twitter is all about quick response.

There are some steps about how to post when you are doing it for the first time:

  1. Try to publish interesting blogs/articles
  2. What is your view point on current events
  3. Another way of making friends on twitter is to give a reply to another user on his /her blog and you can increase your contacts manifold.
  4. Another simpler way is to repeat someone else’s blog and again you can check who have repeated your blog so that you can generate traffic to your website.

The crux of the whole discussion lies in the fact microblogging helps the customers to publicize the brands  online as you believe that it would be of great use for the people and this is fine but as soon people indulge in spamming then it losses its value and shine.

When Creating a Blog the Niche Selection is Important

Posted on October 30th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

When creating a blog you want to pay special attention to selecting the niche you choose to blog in. You have got to remember that both you and hopefully the blog reader will be spending a lot time at the site. You of course will be managing it and supply content while site visitors will be reading the blog entries you make.

In order for your site to become one of the most popular blogs in the niche your content will have to be fresh and interesting. This means you will be spending lot of time researching and composing content for your postings. This also means the blog reader will have to like what they are reading in order for them to return to your site.

This is where the proper niche selection comes in and will be a very important factor in your success.

Here are 3 subtle yet huge benefits you can expect if your niche selection is the right one for you

You Will Love Your Work

Considering all the time you will need to invest in your blog to make it successful doesn’t it make sense to choose a topic you like? It only stands to reason that if you like your work it will seem more like play to you.
During times where additional time is needed to work on your blog in some capacity you will more likely be willing to invest your efforts.

Your Passion Will Be Infectious

If you like your work this ‘passion’ will reflect more in your blog entries. Readers will pick up on this and be naturally drawn in due to the infectiousness or enthusiasm evident in the content itself. In turn this should result in a higher level of participation creating a more ‘community’ like atmosphere.

Higher Quality Content

The more interest or knowledge you have for the topic on which you blog the better the content will be. This higher quality content will keep your current subscribers happy while also attracting new ones to your site. Everybody wins here!

Creating a blog can be and is very exciting but be careful not to let your enthusiasm hasten the selection of your niche. If you choose a niche that you really are not all that fired up about it will have a negative effect on your efforts and your blog results. Site visitors will expect frequent and interesting blog entries or they will not return. On the other hand you will have to supply this content which will require a lot of research and composing on your part. The bottom line is in order to have one of the most popular blogs in the niche a lot of your time and effort will have to be invested. Selecting a niche you know little about or have little interest in will only make your efforts seem harder. This will result in lower quality content and a lack of reader loyalty.

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Business

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Business

The goal of most business owners is to make money. This often results with the selling of a particular product or service. However, to sell that product or service business owners need to alert the general public. Customer cannot buy a product or a service if they do not know that it exists. That is why, as a business owner, you need to advertise your business.

When it comes to advertising there are many business owners who literally cringe. Are you doing this now? There is a good chance that you are because many advertising methods cost money. As a business owner you want to make money not spend it, right? Unfortunately, if you believe that all forms of advertising take money, you are sadly mistaken. Although you may have to spend money to make your business what you want it to be, there are ways to promote your business and the products or services that you sell without having to spend any money at all.

Is your curiosity peaked yet? There is a good chance that it is, rightfully so. One of the ways that you can promote your online business, without having to spend a dime, is by using something that is readily available online. That thing is an online social networking website. A large number of internet users, in fact millions of them, belong to at least one social networking website.

When it comes to social networking, there are many individuals who think of online friendships or online relationships. While these types of relationships are the most common, did you know that social networking is also used for businesses? In fact, that was originally how social networking got started. If you are a small business owner, especially one that operates an online business, there is a way that you can use social networking sites to your advantage.

Although social networking websites are traditionally focused on those that would like to make online friends or develop online relationships, there are networking sites that are designed for business owners. These websites will not only allow you to share your business information with other business owners, but it will also allow you to develop close relationships with those that share an interest that is similar to yours. Essentially, this means that you could not only learn valuable business information, but you could also walk away with a new business partner or a new friend.

As previously mentioned, social networking websites with a focus on businesses, are a great way to promote your business. However, this does not mean that you should completely forget about the other online social networking websites, the ones that are designed to make online friendships. Although you may not learn any valuable business tips by joining Yahoo! 360 or MySpace, you may be able to get new customers and new customers is exactly what your business should want and need.

If you are looking to join an online community, you will need to create your own profile or profile page. If you are planning on joining a traditional social networking website, to gain access to millions of potential new customers, you are urged to be careful when making your online webpage or profile. One thing that internet users hate is being solicited for business. This does not mean that you cannot use social networking to your advantage; it just means that you need to be careful with how you do it. Instead of creating a MySpace page or a Yahoo! 360 page for your business, you are advised to make one for yourself, but, of course, you will want to include information on your business.

By joining a social networking website, especially one that is popular and has a large number of members, you should be able to generate interest in your business, including the products or services that you sell. Who knows, but that interest generated could turn into sales; thus making your social networking experience more than worth it.

Making Money by Blogging - Is it Really Possible?

Posted on October 29th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Hello again,

By now I’m sure you know quite a bit about blogging, unless you’ve lived under a rock for the past few years. Nearly everybody has a blog these days, most just for fun but many to see if they can make a few dollars online with them. Or, at least get some attention!

Well I’m here to tell you it isn’t really easy to make money with a blog, but it certainly can be done. How do you actually make money with a blog – that is the burning question. I did some research myself, and here is what I found. Some may find it unbelievable, others will get a little angry, and still others will say “I can do that!”. And they may be right.

There are many bloggers that make some really good money, some well known and others not so much outside of the hard-core internet marketing community. One guy for sure that is very successful at is John Chow, and I found a recent breakdown of his income on one of his old blog posts. It reads like this:

Total Blog Income for December 2007: $25,040.36

Sounds unbelievable, right? Well, if you take into consideration that he gets about 244,164 page views from 130,587 unique visitors, that answers a few of the questions anyway. He has so many links to his site that even without the help of Google he can command top ranking and massive traffic. How does he do it? Well for one thing, he has been at it steadily for nearly four years. And that is every single day that I’m aware of, without a break. Sounds like a lot of work, right? You bet it is! He has some help I hear, but even with a few people helping his site is massive, needs a good bit of maintenance on a regular basis with ad sites, answering posts and emails, checking with affiliates and other resources. And that isn’t even mentioning the fact that he comes up with a new topic every day! Most people just couldn’t handle the grind, me included.

So how do you possibly get enough traffic to your blog? The usual ways, of course. Start off by having great content, which is the number one reason most people don’t get as much traffic as they should. Next do the usual promotion such as getting your link out there in articles, forums, link exchanges with other related sites, and of course using some white hat SEO tactics. I’m not going to go into great detail about traffic here, I have several other articles about that. But the truth is without steady traffic you won’t make any money whether you have a blog or a regular website.

The truth is, there are only a small percentage of blogs that are really making a decent amount of money for their owners. If you check the stats above for Johns site, you see he is actually also selling affiliate products on his blog as well. In fact it’s the second highest amount of cash earned! Does that tell you anything? Yes, it means selling products still ranks up there as one of the best ways to make money online. Whether you have your own product or sell other products for affiliate resources, it is easier than using adsense or banner ads and driving enough traffic to make money from them.

The bottom line? Find out what you like to do and then give it a shot – you will never make any money online analyzing others stats, talking about it with your friends, or posting your opinions on the latest forum. Get out there and put up a website of one kind or another and start promoting the heck out of something until you start making money. Take a few tips from the pros while you’re at it, because anything they can do so can you!

Archiving Blog Entries In a Fun Way

Posted on October 28th, 2009 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

You might have heard that content is king so you’ve filled your blog with many quality posts. Not only should you be writing good content, but you should be filing it properly so others can easily access it. You can also archive it in a fun way where it brings your old posts more attention and entice a viewer to click on it to read. To get viewers to read more posts, you need to highlight them.

It’s pointless to write a bunch of content and post on your blog just to let it get buried as time goes by. Have pride in the posts you’ve created and display them in a way where readers can access in a comprehensive approach. If you make your archives easy to find, then visitors will more likely stay on your blog longer and read more. You should customize your archived content so it stands out more.

Archiving your pages does a lot of positive things for you. It will keep your content organized by de-cluttering your side bar with old links and help your viewers go through your site easier. Make sure your archived page is detailed so when users type in something in the search bar your blog post about it will pop up. Many times when users come to your blog they just read what’s on the first page, but if you add another archived section (say at the bottom of each post of 4 related blog posts), they’ll be more likely to click on it since it was organized and is relatable to what they’re already reading.

Keep in mind that a lot of people who read content on the internet are doing more of scanning than actual reading. So when they look at your archived list, make sure the headlines are short and concise so they know exactly what is in them if they click on it. If your titles are all very long, visitors won’t enjoy reading through it all to find what they’re looking for. So if you want your archives to be read after they’re posted, remember to keep titles concise, customize the archive bar, and make it easy to scan and make it searchable.
